* The British Medical Association (BMA) is an apolitical professional organisation and independent trade union, representative of doctors and medical students across the UK from all branches of medicine and supporting them to deliver the highest standards of care. The BMA awards take place annually and the judging panel consists of the BMA Chairman of Council, the President, and the Librarian. Entries are first individually reviewed and appraised by doctors and educators, with specialist panels subsequently shortlisting recommendations for final judging by the panel.
