As noted in the title, the focus of the issue is on advances in evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of these illnesses. Articles are devoted to bacterial infections, drug-resistant infections, neonatal infectious diseases, rickettsial disease, parasitic diseases, and global infectious diseases.
